Sometimes We Just Need to Embrace the Randomness of Being Human

Every experience in life can have meaning without happening for a reason

We’d love to know what’s going to happen tomorrow. You probably have a clear expectation about your daily routine or what might take place at work and home, but do you really know? Many people refuse to accept the fact that we will never have 100% confidence in what lies ahead.

This drives us to madness. We don’t want to believe it’s true. We use anything symbolic to help us forecast our path forward. Religion, spirituality, astrology, mythology, numbers, dates, weather, history, culture, literature. The list goes on. We strive to predict the future based on what we already know, but there will always be so much that we don’t know.

Many of us can’t say what it feels like to lose a child. Or get divorced. Or experience a car accident. But, tragically and truthfully, something like that is right around the corner for another person somewhere in the world. You will have friends and family who pass away, though rarely will you know the exact moment in time. Unspeakable tragedies will happen. Life will blindside everyone at some point — for better or worse.
